Project Summary
This project was a specialized area command police station with a specialized SWAT garage designed specifically to accommodate a certain mobile command station. The project featured full locker rooms, showers, and weight rooms. The building featured state-of-the-art briefing room and command center as-well-as an emergency command center. This project was built similar to a bunker in that it had extra thick concrete walls reinforced with blast proof rebar/concrete assembly. The drywall included high security fiber reinforcement. The Rafael Construction team worked with the Owner to order electrical gear early and in advance of construction to mitigate current procurement and supply chain issues. HVAC ducts included high security mesh in all ducts preventing any type of intrusion or security breach through-out the building and its self-sustaining systems. The civil wet and dry utilities were on the opposite side of the street than actual conditions. Rafael Construction worked with the City of North Las Vegas to assure that adjustments were streamlined and questions and answers were developed as quickly as possible, thereby mitigating the discrepancy to the greatest extent.
